The method of Water treatment

It must be pointed out that in most cases, the filtration of water through the filter is not achieved by one method but by a combination of the two methods. The same complex approach provides the best results.

The simplest and most direct method of water treatment is wedge wire screen. The mechanical water treatment is performed by trapping non-solute particles generated due to the difference in particle size and filter passage, and the clear water flows thereon. Simply put, the water passes through the original "sieve".

The size of the particles trapped by the filter depends on the diameter of the channels in the water filter material over which water (especially the size of the opening in the "sieve") flows.

For example, a cylinder filled with granular absorbent carbon having a particle diameter of 0.1 to 1 mm (100 to 1000 μm) can effectively retain particles of about the same size. Most of the particulate matter that is not cut into the water is much less - 0.1 to 20 microns. In fact, microorganisms are not rejected during mechanical filtration because they are 0.4 to 3 microns in size.

Mechanical filtration is widely used in municipal wastewater treatment stations. This type of cleaning is especially practical when taking water from open sources (rivers, lakes, reservoirs).
